As a boy who grew up around Wythall and Hollywood our Director Mike Dingley thought he would write the area profile from a little more of a personal perspective to many “about B47” pages!
Our good reputation has slowly been seeping into the area and twinned with various marketing campaigns has meant that we have been very successful at achieving sales across B47.
Hollywood was a great place to grow up. Hollywood and Wythall enjoys a great semi-rural location but still maintains plenty of amenities and local transport links. Many hours of my childhood were spent playing football in Wythall Park and the Beaudesert Road nature area (now the doctor’s surgery) and what seemed like endless paper rounds on my bike up and down the Alcester road and the Bovis Estate. I even played golf as a teenager at Gay Hill Golf Course (now Hollywood Golf Course)- however my golf skills never really lived up to much!
I have great memories of my school days too. I attended, what is now Coppice Primary Academy, but was at that time Shawhurst Infant School, but all the schools are very good with Meadow Green Primary School in Wythall and Woodrush Academy, which I also attended, in Shawhurst Lane.
It was also a great place to be a teenager with good local transport within easy reach. This was a time when countryside was certainly not top of our agenda! It was far more important to be able to get to Birmingham and Solihull, which we could easily do and I can assure you we did very regularly!
There are a wide range of properties in Hollywood and Wythall, all of them in very high demand so this is a great time to sell a property in this area. I have really enjoyed the last few months spending a little more time valuing properties around Hollywood and we have been very successful at achieving asking price and beyond on our last few houses sold in B47!
I am of course aware that there are two successful and well established Estate Agents in Hollywood and whilst everyone has their own opinion on which agency is best, I hope, as the LOCAL BOY I can have the opportunity to sell properties in the place I know so well and have such great memories of!
